The partnership between Italgraniti Group, the IULM University of Milan and Bureau Veritas has ended with the production of a video about the Group’s sustainable choices.
Italgraniti Group's sustainable development path has long been under way and has achieved significant results, which are about to be quantified in the ceramic manufacturing group’s Sustainability Report, as is customary every year. In October 2023, this development path went to school: Italgraniti Group in fact explained its choices in the field of corporate social responsibility to the students of the “Principles of CSR and Communication” course that the IULM University has incorporated into its Master’s degree in Strategic Communication. These teachings were followed in November by the contribution of Bureau Veritas, guarantor of the Group’s business and product certifications and promoter of the synergy established between Italgraniti Group and IULM.
After these two initiatives, the master’s students were divided up into 22 groups, who were assigned a project work involving the production of a short video. The purpose of the video was to communicate the initiatives implemented by Italgraniti Group in the field of environmental, social and governance sustainability.
The winning video was selected in late 2023, by unanimous decision of both the IULM lecturers and the team in charge of the Group’s corporate communication. The last stage of this creative journey was the winning project work awards ceremony held at Italgraniti Group’s Milan showroom last Friday 26 January, attended by the students involved, the IULM lecturers and Bureau Veritas representatives.
During 2022, Italgraniti Group became a B Corp certified Benefit Company, legitimising a long-established strategy towards all stakeholders aimed at combining innovation and sustainability more and more closely. By taking part in the B Corp global movement that sees business as a positive force not only for the economy but also for the well-being of people and the planet, Italgraniti Group is actively engaged in the transition to an inclusive, fair and regenerative economic model. This business strategy also involves the communication of the topics and values connected to it, giving rise, as in the case of the collaboration with Bureau Veritas and the IULM, to effective and creative communication tools.
The winning project work video (which can be seen below) stood out for its ability to highlight the harmony between the strategy that guides Italgraniti Group's corporate social responsibility and the needs that, from this perspective, youths between the ages of 18 and 30 feel deem to be priorities. The video takes the form of a collage of short interviews, in an attempt to understand what a company should be doing today to prove sustainable in the eyes of its target audience. The students who created the video highlighted how Italgraniti Group is in line with the expectations of young adults, as well as entirely in keeping with the 17 UN Agenda 2030 sustainable development goals.
